Go inside. Connect with your soul, your Guru

Aug 25, 2020

When someone inspires you, they're shining light to something that's already inside of you yearning to express itself.
That inspiration is not a call to be like them, to worship them, or to do what they say.
It's a moment.
That moment is your Soul waking you out of self-doubt by illuminating and affirming something that resonates and takes your breath away.
That "source" of inspiration is not your Guru. You are. And it said, Look! How glorious! That's you!
That very next day, that "source" can do something distasteful, and it won't matter. The work for you was done. You awoke, and you've connected to your own inner Guru.

Keep it simple.

Tune in to yourself and listen for what you want to happen next.
Then do that simple thing. Maybe it's to call someone with a resource or knowledge you don't have. Or to reach out to someone that reminds you that you have the answer.
Don't wait until you've mapped out all the scenarios to do that simple thing... because that simple thing won't follow the scenarios anyway. Put your energy towards the next simple thing rather than towards worry.

Go do something else.

If you're blocked, step away and play. Get fresh air. Read a book. Let it go. Break the block.
As soon as you have something, write it down and keep playing. Remember that it's the play that delivered, not the nose to the grind.
Your Soul loves to play.
(And my Notes app is well used.)

Why settle by trying to be like someone else?

As they say, that position is already taken. But so are you. The Universe doesn't create unnecessary extras. Which means your mere existence is necessary.
Reach out to others, yes. We all need each other. But only you know what's right for you. Only you are connected to your Soul. Only you know how you'll want to follow up with what comes next. So YOU decide the next steps for the trajectory of your Soul.

Be your own Guru.
