Is the sky falling?

Is the sky falling?

What I’m sharing with you today happened less than a week after the bird poop incident.

I was approaching the corner of my block finishing my run when I saw my friend approaching the same corner from the opposite direction. She was crying and upset, so we began to walk and talk. We stopped in the park to continue our conversation when I saw something falling out of the corner of my eye, and we heard a light thunk. We looked over and what appeared to be a pizza crust had fallen out of the sky nearly hitting her shoulder. Needless to say we burst out laughing. You know when you’ve been crying and something funny happens, it offers a cathartic release making it even funnier? That’s what happened with this situation. We can only assume a bird dropped it while flying overhead.

It interjected some humor during a tearful moment, and it gave us pause - “what was that?! what does that mean?”

It doesn’t have to mean anything but maybe it’s a reminder to be prepared for the unexpected? (is that possible?) Or to be careful looking up!

It’s a reminder that laughing heals, brings joy, can bring a welcome shift, and just feels good.

When you need a good laugh, watch this 90 second video. Leave a comment and let me know if it made the corners of your mouth turn up - one of my favorite yoga postures!

One of the gifts of yoga is that it opens you up to experience all of the emotions. In your practice you may find yourself laughing, or crying, or so angry you want to scream! The yoga and breathwork help to release what you’re holding in your body. Use the movement and breath as a safe container to experience your emotions fully. Let yourself feel them. Observe the release that can bring. Listen to the message they have for you, they are your ally after all. Join our Self-Practice. Practice yoga and meditation on your own terms, on your own schedule.  It's your practice. Use it to meet your needs for healing and self-expression.

I’ll see you inside!

Love,
