Now's the IDEAL time to start meditating - here's why

When I found meditation in October 2007, I knew it was what I’d been looking for to help me manage my stress and get control over my life. In my second class, we learned the value of having a daily practice, and were encouraged to practice the same meditation for 40 days (because it takes 40 days) to create a habit.

That was all I needed to hear. In that class, we practiced a 15 minute meditation and I made that class my Day 1. I committed to practicing daily for the next 40 days.

Then the holidays came. My husband and I were driving to NYC to spend Thanksgiving with our friends, and I was determined to keep up with my daily practice. I wasn’t an early riser at that time, so as soon as I woke up, I got on the floor next to the bed and got it done. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I did it anyway because I made the commitment to myself.

I kept up for 40 consecutive days and reaped the benefits - most notably releasing chronic neck pain and experiencing moments of calm (I run anxious by nature). That 40 day practice began my journey which has now spanned 15 years(!). Meditation is part of who I am, and through it, I’ve experienced many wonderful benefits over the years including finding my breath, improving my digestion, forming nurturing relationships, finding forgiveness for myself and family members, healing deep wounds, trusting and knowing myself, having energy, focus and passion… Of course, teaching meditation has become a big part of my life and as I’m writing this, I think it’s pretty cool that I get to reflect on these experiences with you, thank you!

As we move toward the end of the year, it can be easy to say - I’ll wait to start meditating in the new year… life is busy, I have no time, maybe later… But what if starting now can give you energy to enjoy the holidays, and your life, in a whole new way? What if this is actually an ideal time to start your meditation practice?

With this in mind, we’ve created something special for you. Tomorrow we’ll send you our free mini-course on the 3 Legs of Self-Care (yes, meditation is one of the three legs). It will be available through Friday only, so take a moment right now to carve out 30 minutes tomorrow to watch the 3 lessons and implement the one small habit at the end of each lesson. When you complete the course, you’ll have created 3 small habits that will give you stable, focused energy, and help you balance what you want with what’s keeping you busy and exhausted. Just in time for the holidays :).

I can’t wait to share it with you and hear what habits you’re creating for yourself this week.

With love and gratitude,

Jodh

P.S. Savitree and I appreciate you being a part of the HealedLovedFed community. We love getting your responses to our emails and learning more about you. It’s a big part of why we created the 3 Legs of Self-Care - in response to what you've shared with us, and as a thank you for being here. When we share courses like this, we’re often asked what’s next? So at the end of the series, you’ll have a chance to join us in Six Weeks to Sustained Energy. We know you’ll benefit from the 3 Legs of Self-Care on its own, and if you want to take it even further, you can join us for more. To make sure don’t miss out, join the waitlist here.
